Exit Expectations for Kindergarten

Students who are performing at grade level should exhibit the following expectations.

Exit Expectations for K5

1. Recognizes and writes upper and lower case letters

2.  Knowledge of phonic sounds (consonant/vowels) and blends

3. One to one correspondence

4.  Understands operation process of addition and subtraction from 1-10

5.  Recognizes numbers 1-100

6.  Recognizes number words 1-10 and color words

7.  Recognizes 10 dolch words

8.  Uses word attack (phonics skills) to decode words (short vowels and simple blends)

9.  Knows address, phone #, and birthdate

10.  Evaluation of social skills, listening skills, behavioral skills, ability to follow directions and work independently
