Welcome to K-4 and K-5 Music!!

 

We have a great year planned with our young musicians as they begin to explore the world of music through exciting games and exercises.  We will experience many different concepts in music through using our rythmn sticks, shakers, drums, and other percussion instruments.  We will talk about instrument families and be able to listen to them and see how they function and are played.  We will learn to read basic notated rythmns and be able to recognize and form rythmns of our own.  Also, we will focus much on ear training through copy games with instruments and voices based on the Orff technique of teaching music.  We will also listen to music from other countries and experience dances and view instruments from that particular culture.  All in all, I look forward to being with your child this year and guiding them through a small part of their muscial journey.
