2/17 Week 3 Science Fair assignment due-Record in your journal five    facts that you have  learned about your topic.    

     

Skills and Assignments 2/2-2/10

Reading Students will continue using the LIPS strategy to improve decoding and encoding skills. Each will continue  reading chapter 8-10 in Jane Eyre. To promote comprehension, questions will be answered and scenes will be acted out daily. Students will color characters and write five describing words on a mural.

Homework-Students should read aloud in Jane chapters read in class for homework nightly . Please sign agenda daily.

Language Arts-  Students will  complete workbook pages 117-133 reviewing nouns. Each will write a descriptive paragraph about Jane, Aunt Reed and Mr. Rochester using the structure words.    

 

Spelling-  Lesson 23 will cover sounds /ar/ and more ways to spell with long/i/. New words were sent home  2/2. Test will be  Wednesday. Students will begin cursive.

Social Studies- Each will complete a study review 101-103 and worksheet. Students will read pages 124-132 about rural, urban and suburban communities. Each will compare differences by making a chart. Study skill this week will be note taking.   

Bible-  Students will continue reading about the parting of the Red Sea. Memory Verse- Exodus15:2"The Lord is my strength and my song;he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him."

Math-  After taking our chapter test 15 on Tuesday, we will begin to learn how to use bar models to solve multiplication and division problems.  Homework: Mon. Drill sheet is due tomorrow. Complete cumulative review sheet to prepare for test.  Tues.- Complete addition review worksheet ( drill 3 multiplication facts)   Thurs. Drill 3 and 4 multiplication facts. 

   Science- AS we begin a new chapter we will be looking at matter and studying the properties of solids, liquids, and gases.
