Reminders

Thank you so much for all of my teacher treats!!! I am so proud of the progress these students have made this year. I have rally enjoyed teaching these "Southern Gentleman."

Skills and Assignments 5/11-5/18

 

Reading Students will continue using the LIPS strategy to improve decoding and encoding skills. Each will finish reading Treasure Island. To promote comprehension, questions will be answered,scenes will be acted out and murals will be made. Students have until May 18 to reach AR goal. 

Homework-Students should read aloud in Treasure Island chapters read in class  or AR for homework nightly . Please sign agenda daily.

Language Arts-  Students will  complete workbook pages 253-265 over antonyms and an adjective review. Each will write a descriptive paragraph about Long John Silver and Ben Gunn using the structure words.    

 

Spelling- Students have completed Spelling workbooks. Test Friday over days of the week.Each will work on dictionary skills. Students will continue cursive.

Social Studies-   Students will take several quizes over research/poster information. Each will use posters/murals/geographical map to answer  specific questions. Grades will be counted twice. Students will read pages 226-254 over World Cultures. Specific locations will be identified on a map.  

Bible-  Students will continue reading about the Israelites' journey to the promised land and how God chose a new leader, Joshua. Leadership qualities will be discussed. Memory Verse Joshua 1:9, " Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

                                                                                                 Science- We will finish our technology unit. There will be no homework this week.
