A Message from Mrs. Veys regarding COVID-19

Good Morning Parents,

As you are well aware, the protocol on the Coronavirus seems to be changing by the minute. We were hopeful that we would be able to remain open, but at this point every public and private school in Hamilton County has made the decision to close next week and switch to digital learning. After much discussion with teachers and the administrative team this morning, here is the plan:

· Hickory Valley Christian School will be closed to students next week.

· Monday will be an in-service day for teachers as we adjust to home-based learning.

· Tuesday through Friday, students will be completing work from home. We know that we have the most creative teachers in town, and learning will continue!

· We will be sending home all workbooks and textbooks today; the library will be open all day so that students can take home several books.

· The auction/talent show on Friday night will be postponed; it has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, April 25, but of course everything is unpredictable at the moment.

· We will reassess the situation next week, and take this on a week-by-week basis.

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding. We will all be praying that this illness will pass quickly.

God bless,

Emma Veys
